Designed, developed and manufactured entirely in the UK, this advanced throttle body system delivers exceptional throttle response, optimised airflow and proven race winning performance for both motorsport and high-performance road applications.

Advanced Profile Butterfly Technology

For maximum engine performance, Jenvey favours butterfly throttle technology due to its minimal obstruction at wide open throttle (WOT). Unlike barrel throttle systems, a butterfly design can also create carefully controlled airflow characteristics that contribute to improved torque delivery in certain applications.

The Profile Butterfly system builds upon Jenvey's renowned spindle design, further reducing airflow disturbance and restriction at full throttle. Extensive development work has focused on the interaction between the butterfly and the throttle bore, ensuring the transition is as smooth as possible when fully open. This attention to detail minimises blockage, improves airflow efficiency and maximises engine performance throughout the operating range.

At just 2 mm thick, the profiled butterfly design offers a significantly reduced cross sectional area at WOT, while the shallow 8 degree closing angle provides greater precision and control at small throttle openings. The result is improved drivability, enhanced throttle modulation and uncompromising top end performance.

Optimised Fuel Delivery

Performance gains are further enhanced through carefully engineered fuel injector positioning. The primary EFI injectors are located further upstream than conventional installations and are positioned within the airflow generated by the butterfly at part throttle. This arrangement increases fuel atomisation time and improves mixture quality before entering the combustion chamber, helping to deliver stronger torque and increased power where it matters most.

For ultimate performance applications, the system incorporates a secondary set of injectors housed within the air horns. Testing has demonstrated that this arrangement can provide an additional power gain of approximately 7 bhp compared with the primary body-mounted injectors alone.

Proven on Track

The Ford Duratec Profile Butterfly Kit is available with two alternative outlet port configurations:

  • Standard port size to match OEM cylinder head dimensions
  • Enlarged port size designed to complement Ultimate Performance cylinder head porting

Performance claims are backed by extensive real-world development and competition success. The system has been tested and refined on Mike Jenvey's Jenvey-Gunn sports prototype race car, which produces approximately 320 bhp from a naturally aspirated 2.0-litre Ford Duratec engine featuring:

  • 14:1 compression ratio
  • SBD camshafts
  • Pace dry sump lubrication system
  • Arrow Precision crankshaft

The package has delivered outstanding results in competition, achieving victories in approximately 50% of the races in which it has competed.

Designed, Developed and Manufactured by Jenvey

Jenvey Dynamics designs, develops and manufactures its products entirely in-house, often working closely with leading engine builders and performance specialists. Uniquely, all castings are produced in Jenvey's own foundry before being machined, assembled and tested within the same facility.

This integrated manufacturing approach ensures complete quality control throughout the production process. Compared with fully machined billet alternatives, Jenvey's cast systems offer significant weight advantages while maintaining exceptional strength and durability.

Every major component is validated through rigorous testing, including over one million cycle durability tests, ensuring reliability in the most demanding environments. While all standard kits are supplied as proven, race-ready packages, Jenvey's modular throttle body architecture also provides extensive flexibility for bespoke applications, allowing custom throttle sizes, system lengths and configurations to be specified when required.
